Tank Memorial

Sunday 10th May saw the unveiling of the Lincoln Tank Memorial on Tritton Road roundabout with more than 500 people in attendance. Taylor Lindsey are proud to have supported the project, which recognises the contribution of factory workers at W M Foster who produced the first tanks during World War One.

Relatives of factory workers involved in building tanks cut the ribbon to officially open the memorial, which was accompanied by a Spitfire fly-past from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Laverne Tritton was among the relatives who cut the ribbon. Laverne is a distant relative of William Tritton, who was directly involved with the development of the first tank.

Sonya Turner of Taylor Lindsey commented ‘The striking design of the memorial pays tribute to the men and women who designed and worked on the production line at William Foster and Co Lincoln. I’m pleased that we have been able to play a part in helping with this project.’
